KaKaipātiki Sounds

Kaipātiki Sounds is a musical event on Auckland’s North Shore that generates solidarity between the local highschools through the creation of an annual music festival, as well as other smaller musical events throughout the year. YANZ assists with general implementation of these events, including creative direction and event management, as well as advising on topics such as youth engagement and community sustainability.

The inaugural event in 2019 was delivered over three days, with the first two days consisting of performance and musicality workshops with NZ music legends including Mike Chunn, Bella Kalolo and Phil Dadson. The last evening was a multi-genre music showcase, celebrating the musical talent of the local students.

This event was a huge success, and YANZ is working with the Kaipātiki community to deliver this event on an annual basis. Birkenhead College's Brian Gerrard Theatre was the first to host this event, and we look forward to doing so again in the future.
